| I have been involved in the community all of my life. I co-founded the River & Blues Fest which ran for 20 years raising money for local charities and student scholarships. I was the President of the Lee/Charlotte County Restaurant & Lodging Association (FRLA) for many year and sat on the FRLA state board in Tallahassee.. While President of the (FRLA) our Chapter started many Culinary Art programs in the high schools, giving the students an edge in the hospitably industry as a pathway into the workforce after high school.
As the Co-owner of a Cape Coral Restaurant, I became engaged as a community partner in helping our local schools. I continue to be engaged with the Lee County Business Community & our Restaurant/Events/ Tourist Industry through my work. I have served as a past member of the Cape Kiwanis Club, the Chamber of Commerce, Women in Business, the Christian Chamber, National Wedding Professionals , past board member of Harry Chapin Food Bank, volunteered at the Harlem Heights food bank. I am also a board member of Uncommon Friends. Nominated for Faces of Diversity in 2010 through the National Restaurant Association. Served on the advisory board of Florida Southwest State College, NAACP executive committee, Co-Chair and mentor of ACT-SO students throughout Lee County.
